1. Who we are

Yoga Study Guides is a service operated by LQ Planet Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand. When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means LQ Planet Ltd.

We are the data controller for the personal information you provide when using Yoga Study Guides. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, contact us at hello@allmatstaken.com.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your first name. Your password is never stored by us — it is hashed and managed by our authentication provider, Clerk.

Payment data

When you subscribe we collect billing information including your name and email address. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your card number, expiry date or CVV.

Usage data

We collect information about how you interact with the service, including which guides you open, how far you progress through them and when you last accessed the platform. This data is used to show your progress on the dashboard and to improve the guides.

Technical data

We may collect standard technical information when you access the service, such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit. This is collected automatically by our hosting provider, Cloudflare.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• Create and manage your account
• Process your subscription payment and send receipts
• Deliver access to the guide library
• Save and display your study progress
• Send service emails (receipts, renewal reminders, password resets)
• Respond to support requests
• Improve the guides and platform based on usage patterns
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with advertisers.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, we collect and use your personal information only for the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:

• Contract: processing your account data and payment information is necessary to deliver the service you have subscribed to.
• Legitimate interests: we process usage and technical data to improve the service, prevent fraud and ensure security.
• Legal obligation: we retain certain financial records as required by New Zealand law.

5. Third parties

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform:

• Clerk (authentication) — manages sign-in, sign-up and session security. Clerk processes your email address and hashed password. Clerk Privacy Policy

These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually required to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records by law (for example, financial records which we keep for 7 years as required by New Zealand law).

Anonymised usage data, which cannot be linked back to you, may be kept for longer for analytical purposes.

7. Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: you can ask us to delete your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
• Restriction: you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
• Portability: you can request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
• Objection: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

You also have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of New Zealand at privacy.org.nz if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies for authentication (to keep you signed in) and local browser storage to save your study progress. This local storage data (including which screen you reached in each guide) stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. These include HTTPS encryption, hashed password storage and access controls on our systems.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@allmatstaken.com.

10. International transfers

Our service providers (Clerk, Stripe and Cloudflare) may process your data in countries outside New Zealand, including the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled with a comparable level of protection to that required under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the platform. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.

Continuing to use Yoga Study Guides after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
